While I obviously loved Martin Starr’s cameo in last week’s Parks and Recreation episode, I wish he would’ve turned up earlier in the season in the model United Nations episode and reprised his model UN obsessed Community character.

But here’s what “Regional Holiday Music” reminded me: Liking things is vital. Liking things makes life bearable. I’m not trying to say here that I’m a cold, guarded cynic, or that I have trouble giving myself over to things (some might say I have the opposite of that), or anything like that. I’m here to say that for as much as random people who stumble into comments to tell us that this show isn’t good or that it wasn’t as good as it was or whatever, it doesn’t matter. Nobody needs to like what you like. (Hopefully, a large enough number of people will like what you like to make sure that it stays in production, but, hey, we all know how that goes, right?) It’s enough that you like something, that you find something that makes you happy and people to share that something with. In some ways, the Internet has made this easier and harder than it was. Now, we can all come together to talk about how Community is the best, but that also makes us feel a little more alone when we head out to family holiday celebrations, and say, ‘Guess what? I love Community!’ and everybody says, ‘What’s that?’ or, ‘Oh, yeah, I’ve heard of that one. Doesn’t it have Chevy Chase?’ »AV Club’s recap of Community

In short, you’re not just another suit. You have gone out of your way to nurture shows that belong on the Island of Misfit Toys, and you’ve made successes of quite a few of them. Sticking with ‘Community’ cements NBC’s reputation as the place where (mostly) excellent comedies still hold down the fort. That’s not a reputation you want to throw away lightly, for yourself or for your network.

Don’t take us into the darkest timeline, Mr. Greenblatt. Find a place for ‘Community’ on the NBC schedule. Give the Greendale students an extension. You can afford to, I think. And you can’t afford not to.

You know how we at TV Hangover love some USA Network shows?  Well, if you’re new around here, we do.  If you watch any of those shows you’ll also notice their, mostly horrible, use of twitter hash tags sprawled across the screen or their terrible questions they pose for you to ‘get involved’ on twitter.  On last night’s episode of Community, they schooled (sorry for the pun) the USA network on how to properly use twitter while their show was airing.

“I need to catch up on Breaking Bad.”Yeah, we’re really going to need to have some sort of Community/Breaking Bad crossover episode. Just a shot of Jesse Pinkman peddling meth in the background of a scene? We’ll take anything.
