The side plot on last night’s Happy Endings with Alex, Brad, and Max staking out the Chinese Restaurant with the racist parrot was one of the best moments on the show.  Its non-stop pop culture references to things like The Wire, Blue Bloods, Ali, Entourage, and Rear Window among others are always so on point.  I think we all know that Jane and Penny are just brilliantly written, but Alex’s character has developed so much as this season has gone on, especially with her recurring bit regarding eating food and ways to not be alone in her store.
